Visa Secure and eftpos Secure
Visa Secure and eftpos Secure are the services that provide you with increased protection from potential fraud for online shopping. Together with participating retailers, Visa Secure and eftpos Secure provide Members with an additional layer of validation at the time of purchase that helps protect Members against unauthorised use of Unity Bank Visa credit and debit cards.

Am I protected?
Yes, you are automatically protected. All you need to do is ensure you have a valid mobile number registered with Unity Bank. When making online purchases, look out for the Visa Secure and eftpos Secure logos (as shown below) displayed on participating retailers’ website. If there is no Visa Secure and eftpos Secure logos, you can still continue to shop online, however the extra layer of protection won’t be provided via Visa Secure and eftpos Secure.
How does Visa Secure and eftpos Secure work?
As you make a purchase online, a “Payment Authentication” screen may appear shortly after you attempt to complete payment at checkout. This verification helps ensure the person using your card is you and protects you from potential fraud. To verify your identity, we will send you a One-Time Password (OTP) via SMS to your mobile number. You will be required to enter the OTP on the “Payment Authentication” screen and, if successful, will complete the authentication.
Please note: Members are encouraged to check their mobile number and email address are up to date to allow us to send their OTP.
