What is Osko®?

Osko is a payment service available on the New Payments Platform (NPP) and it is backed by BPAY®. It enables near real-time payments between eligible bank accounts at participating financial institutions, 24/7 – even on weekends and public holidays. Unity Bank automatically accepts all Osko payments from participating financial institutions.

You will see the transaction appear as Osko or the Osko logo (shown below) when you receive or make an Osko payment. The option to pay via Osko is available on our Internet Banking and Banking App.

Osko payments to another financial institutions bank account will automatically be processed if:

  • The amount is up to $1,000 per account per day. This limit is set to protect our Members money from fraud.
  • Your payee’s bank account accepts Osko payments. (Some financial institutions may still not accept Osko payments).

You can still make payments above $1,000 but it will be processed through the standard payment process using the BSB and Account Number which can take between 1 –2 business days to process before it is appears in the recipient’s bank account.

What is PayID?

PayID is a convenient and secure feature of the New Payment Platform allowing you to transfer or receive money without having to use your bank account details. It uses a memorable piece of information that you link to an eligible bank account.

You can set up your PayID to be your mobile number, email address or ABN/ACN number. Should you wish to register your ABN/ACN number as your nominated linked PayID, please call us on 1300 36 2000 and we can arrange this for you.

Why use PayID?

  • Fast: Near real-time payments across participating banks
  • Easy: Easier to remember than using your BSB and account number
  • Mobile: Available on our Banking App
  • Secure: You don’t have to share your BSB and account number anymore, so you can keep them private.

To use the convenience of PayID, you must first register.

  1. Log into Internet Banking
  2. Select ‘Update Details’ then ‘Manage PayID’
  3. Create Pay ID
  4. Link a mobile number and/or email address to your account. Please ensure your mobile number and email address details are correct
  5. Verify your contact details with the verification code sent to your nominated linked PayID
  6. Once linked, you can simply provide your PayID for payments instead of handing out your BSB and account number.
